June Meeting
THE JUNE MEETING WILL BE FRIDAY, JUNE 7TH, AT 12:00 NOON at the Gloria McClellan Sr. Center. This will be a very busy meeting with a special surprise. The mayor of Vista, Judy Ritter, will be joining us for lunch and saying a few words. In addition, Mira Costa representatives will be joining us also and we will be presenting our four $1000 scholarships to them for horticulture students.
This is also the meeting for the INSTALLATION OF OFFICERS for the 2013-2014 term. Please come and support our upcoming officers.
AWARDS FROM THE FLOWER SHOW will also be presented to the winners. Art Logan and committee (Nancy Jones, Pat Foley) will offer a power point presentation with lots of pictures and commentary of the winning plants, designs, and winners. If you won something for a great plant or design, please plan to come and claim your award and be in the spotlight.
AWARDS FROM CALIFORNIA GARDEN CLUBS, INC. will also be announced and/or presented. These awards have been entered in competition with many other garden clubs by our Awards Committee, headed up by Carole Lee. On the committee are also Barbara Weiler, Carol Zukowski, Trudy Snell, Christina Sangster. A number of awards were entered. We will find out what the Vista Garden Club has won at the June 3-7 Convention in San Diego and bring these back for our meeting.
This will be an upside down meeting with all of the important items above happening first. Afterwards, we will have our regular meeting with our reports, our Design Time Spotlight, Horticultural Report, This N That Table, and Plant Sale Table.
COME AND SUPPORT YOUR CLUB AND ALL OF ITS IMPORTANT ACTIVITIES.

We are "dark" in July and August. May is our Flower Show and November our Scholarship Luncheon; see to read about these two activities.

Membership
Membership is open to everyone and dues are a nominal $25.00 a year or $40.00 for a family. May is when the yearly membership is due. Membership includes a personal name badge, an information booklet, and introduction to the group. Members are encouraged to participate in the many club activities. |
Visitors are welcome to attend our meetings and share in our fingertip luncheon. There is no need to notify anyone, just come and introduce yourself; guests are introduced at all meetings. Each month we have a program addressing some aspect of gardening.
 Prior to the monthly meetings we have either a workshop or a tour. You can see what is happening each month by selecting the Meetings tab.
